Volunteering Opportunities

  • Football/Soccer Coaching

Out of the myriad of volunteer abroad opportunities, volunteering for sports coaching is definitely one of the most straightforward in knowing how you’ll spend your time.

Aside from the expected duties of leading games, training players, coordinating tournaments among larger groups of talents, and helping young students grasp sports techniques, there are a couple of other things that you might be required to do in order to provide the children holistic health and exercise experience.

Because sports and games are such a great way to hook children into academic activities, there is usually some element of sports volunteering.

Our sports coaching program enables our volunteers to really put their personality into work, and enable children and youth to develop their sports talents. Volunteers can choose to work with either the boys, girls, or both teams.

We have four different categories of age groups where volunteers can coach: U-10, U-13, U-15, and U-17. And if they wish to do so, volunteers can train alongside the senior football teams.

  • Child Care

This project is well suited to caring individuals who want to assist in providing basic education for the children and offering support wherever your help is most needed.

The aim of the program is to provide assistance in a childcare center that needs extra help as the center is underfunded and under-resourced. This center caters to children from low-income families, providing them with education, interaction, and food.

Volunteer tasks mainly focus on teaching the children basic English and Math, as well as assisting with the general running of the center and daily chores. This can include cooking, cleaning, farm work, caring for children and babies, and assisting with feeding programs.

This project is ideal for anyone who wants to help where it’s really needed and improve the lives of young children. Volunteers gain practical experience of working in childcare and develop important life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and planning.

If you have loads of energy, take a playful approach to life, and enjoy the antics of little ones, childcare volunteering is definitely for you.

  • Teaching

Our volunteer program aims to give the children in the surrounding towns and villages a more sustainable education. The schools are not as organized as western schools and with our program, we want to try to bridge the gap.

Private schools have 50-100 students with classes ranging from 5-30 pupils, whereas public schools can have up to 1500 students with classes of 50-80 pupils.

When the number of pupils in a class becomes too high, the schools can't always afford to split the class because they don't have enough teachers.

We also hope to future-proof the learning—especially in secondary school environments. Where students can become more comfortable working with new technology and softwares.

This is where you come in. After an introduction period alongside a professional teacher, when you feel comfortable, you will be able to teach a class by yourself.

  • Tennis

This is a fantastic community tennis program aimed at giving opportunities to children to learn how to play tennis. A tennis volunteer will teach basic techniques, teamwork, and leadership.

Volunteer spends time teaching basic English, organize tennis lessons for children in local schools. After school activities, volunteer joins the community tennis club.

  • Handball

Handball is one of our tools to empower the youth. This program gives the opportunity to volunteer share time with children/youth in school and engages them in sports (handball).

Volunteers will assist the local coaches with drills at training, educate and build confidence in children, promote teamwork and organize local competitions.

  • New Ideas?

We embrace all the ideas coming from volunteers to improve the schools, football culture, and child development. We welcome all input and this has shown to be very useful in the past.

Teachers gladly adapt to improved structures and processes, even after the volunteer has left. Together with professional teachers, the role of the volunteer and the aim of our program is to make sure that the time in and out of school is spent as efficiently and effectively as possible so that the students can get the maximum out of their education and have more opportunities in their future.
